Every year, hundreds of young people participate in L.O.C.A.L. Adventures programs. These experiences are powerful—sometimes even life-changing—and the most impactful stories come directly from the youth themselves.

This summer, we're excited to bring a new layer of storytelling to our work. L.O.C.A.L. Adventures educator Molly Bienstock, a licensed social worker and educator with experience interviewing and amplifying youth voices across New York City, will be helping us capture the stories, reflections, and experiences of the young people we serve.

We already have a GoPro and the ability to document our adventures on the river and trail. Now we're looking for the final pieces: an iPad, a simple microphone, and a tripod that will allow students to complete surveys, record testimonials, and share their experiences in their own words.

Whether it's a student describing the moment they overcame their fear of the water, discovered a new sense of confidence, or simply found a place where they felt they belonged, these stories help us understand our impact and share it with the partners and supporters who make this work possible.

This small investment will strengthen our grant reporting, improve our programs, and most importantly, ensure that youth voices remain at the center of everything we do.
