At The Child 1st, our mission is that, through Christ, we will make a lasting impression on the lives of vulnerable children.

We believe that strong families lead to healthy children. Our programs provide resources and support to custodians struggling to care for the children in their care, parents desiring to keep their family intact and out of the family services system(s) and women facing an unplanned pregnancy, ensuring they have the tools needed to thrive.

A 100% privately funded organization, The Child 1st strives to support children and families from across South Dakota. Everything we do is rooted in the 4 pillars (Love, Honesty, Perseverance and Boundaries) that anchor our mission to our Foundation (God). Built on the firm foundation of our Lord, we stand as beacons of love and hope to the children and families we are called to serve, leading not just by words but by actions that are true, transparent and lasting.
