🌪️ Hurricane Melissa Relief Drive: Rebuilding Hope for Jamaica

In the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa, entire communities across Jamaica have been left without power, homes, and critical supplies. Roads are flooded, families are displaced, and recovery will take all of us coming together.

The Dennis and Norma Creary Foundation is leading a community-driven relief effort to support those most affected.

💛 How You Can Help

1️⃣ Donate Funds:
Every dollar helps us deliver immediate aid — from food and clean water to essential repairs and transportation.

2️⃣ Donate Supplies:
We’re collecting toiletries, clothing, first-aid kits, baby items, and non-perishable food. You can drop off items or contribute funds so we can purchase supplies directly in Jamaica.

3️⃣ Spread the Word:
Share this campaign and help raise awareness. Together, we can mobilize more support for families in urgent need.

🚚 Our On-the-Ground Impact (So Far)

Thanks to community donations and volunteers, we have already:

Shipped and delivered 3 emergency pallets full of supplies, on 1 plane
Purchased and distributed over 120 "relief kits" to provide assistance to families in Flagstaff, Montego Bay and surrounding communities including :
- 30 baby kits with diapers, infant formula, pediasure, baby wipes, and water
- 20 elder kits with diapers, food, water, socks and elder care items
- 30 women kits with tampons, pads, and hand sanitizer
- 52 general kits with nonperishable food, toilet paper and hand sanitizers
- Over 50 pairs of shoes, jeans, lights, battery packs, blankets and tarp
Coordinated deliveries to shelters and community centers

🌱 Our Next Goal: Rebuild & Rehome at Least 4 Families

Hurricane Melissa has left over 120,000 Jamaicans displaced from their homes, with many families losing roofs, walls, and the basic structures needed to live safely.

Through our conversations with residents and contractors on the ground, we’ve learned that:

It costs approximately US $2,000 to rebuild a roof and reconstruct a damaged home enough for a family to safely return.

This includes:

Roof materials (zinc, plywood, lumber)
Labor and installation
Interior repairs to water-damaged rooms
Basic structural stabilization

We are raising $10,000 to help families return to safe, stable living conditions.

Every home rebuilt is a life changed — a family brought back under their own roof, with dignity and safety restored.
