In 2023, while off duty, Officer Elliott was involved in a shooting at a local convenience store while intervening to save the life of a female who was in immediate danger. During that incident, Officer Elliott was shot in the leg and required hospitalization and medical treatment. Thankfully, he has since been released and continues his recovery.

Unfortunately, despite having personal insurance, Officer Elliott incurred significant medical expenses that were not fully covered. He currently has an outstanding balance with the local hospital totaling $3,724.80.

Officer Elliott has faithfully volunteered his time and energy to PAL and to the youth of our community for many years. To ensure transparency and to prevent Officer Elliott from incurring any unintended tax liability, funds raised will be paid directly to the hospital toward his outstanding medical balance to pay them off first. Any remaining funds will be paid directly to Officer Elliott to help with any additional debt he collected while he was out of work during that time.

Officer Elliott has consistently given back to our youth and community through his volunteer service with Dunn PAL, and we now have an opportunity to support him during this challenging time.
