On 45th Street in Union City, there’s a cat everyone seemed to know — the scruffy grey tom with torn ears, limping from one fight after another. Neighbors left food out, gave him nicknames, and called him part of the block’s scenery. They called him Tuck.

But while he was fed and acknowledged, no one ever got him the help he truly needed. His wounds went untreated, and without being neutered, the cycle of fighting and suffering just continued.

That’s where North Bergen Purr stepped in. Our volunteers trapped Tuck, got him neutered, and brought him to the vet for wound care and treatment. What no one else had done, our team made sure to do — because Tuck deserved more than just scraps and sympathy.

Now, Tuck is safe and recovering, healing in comfort instead of pain. Soon, he’ll return to his colony healthier and protected from the brutal tomcat life he’s endured for years.
