Hi my name is Isabel. I was diagnosed with scoliosis when I was 9 years old. I started wearing a brace at that time for 18 hours a day and am now in my second brace. I am now 11, almost 12 years old. I got my first Higgy Bear the year I got my brace.  It is a Teddy Bear that has a curved spine and a scoliosis brace with the same design as my brace. It even came with it's own x-ray and motivational letters from other kids that had scoliosis. Through the Higgy Bear network, I met friends that also had scoliosis. I went to HiggyCon last summer, a conference that provided education on scoliosis and connected many people across the country. I plan to attend HiggyCon this summer also. I attend HiggyZooms to connect with others and have started a Higgy Friends group in DFW to connect kids with scoliosis in the DFW area.

I am fundraising so others can have Higgy Bears when they receive their back brace. I am also organizing a Higgy Walk that will be in June 2024 for Scoliosis Awareness. More details on that coming soon. Please consider helping me in this fundraiser by donating so that others can have a Higgy Bear and to get connected with others to help them through their scoliosis journey. Each Higgy Bear is about $25-$30.
