Help us feed holiday meals to the communities of WNC.
Montgomery Sky Farm in Leicester, NC is home to Final Run Rescue, a 501c3 charitable organization that was damaged by Hurricane Helene. Located just outside of Asheville, North Carolina.
The 50 acre, working farm lost all their produce and suffered damages we have yet to calculate. The property is home to dozens of rescued animals that graze the pastures and live out their final years here on the farm.
Final Run Rescue, led by Taylor (an Executive Chef) and Fran Montgomery (a farmer and animal rescuer and caregiver), in response to our community’s devastation, are contouring their Appalachia Restore and Rescue fund, with holiday meals for the communities in WNC. This program includes scratch cooking, prepping and traveling to communities throughout the Appalachian areas and feeding meals to people during the holiday season.
What exactly are we doing?
We are traveling up to five hours every day to each town preparing meals during the holidays, cooking fresh produce and setting up a remote kitchen at each location we visit. We then break down, clean up and prepare for the next location. Along with food, we bring supplies such as fresh produce, proteins, fruit, and culinary equipment to prepare hot, wholesome meals.
We are confirmed to feed in Spruce Pine, NC on Friday, November 22nd and Valley Hope Church in Swannanoa, NC on Monday, November 25th.
What are the funds for?
We hope to keep providing meals to communities in need for as long as our resources allow. All donations will be used to purchase food, help financially support the prep team and chef's involved, travel expenses and providing incredible Thanksgiving and meals to communities without access.
Thank you from our FRR and MSF families for your kindness, generosity and support as we work to rebuild the community we call home.
