Holyoke Food and Equity Collective
Mission: The Holyoke Food and Equity Collective is an antiracist community organization working to create better access to healthy food in the city of Holyoke by building food sovereignty. Through diverse and adaptive mutual aid projects, the collective’s goal is to generate health, racial, and economic equity in our community.
Projects: Twice monthly diaper distribution in South Holyoke, free garden beds and bucket planters for Holyoke residents, an affordable seedling CSA share that can be purchased with SNAP and HIP, free community food scrap composting, quarterly sliding-scale Collective Dinners featuring themes, speakers and food by chef Neftali Duran, gleaning and growing food, HIP advocacy, and fundraising for the March for the Food Bank.
Where your money goes, and ideas for how much to donate: (recurring donations of at least $5 are strongly encouraged as diapers are our biggest and most regular expense)
