At the New London Homeless Hospitality Center (NLHHC), we believe that every person deserves dignity, safety, and a place to call home.

Founded in 2006 by a coalition of faith communities and concerned citizens, NLHHC was created in response to a simple but urgent need: people in our community were sleeping outside, even in the harshest conditions. What began as an emergency winter shelter has grown into a year-round, full-service organization dedicated to ending homelessness in Southeastern Connecticut.

We provide more than a bed. We offer hope, support, and a path forward.

Each year, hundreds of individuals come through our doors—each with their own story and challenges. Our comprehensive approach includes emergency shelter, housing assistance, case management, employment support, and access to health care and recovery services. We work closely with partners throughout the region to ensure that no one faces homelessness alone.

Our work is driven by a belief in the power of community. Whether it’s a guest doing the most challenging work of helping themselves and accepting further support, a volunteer offering a warm welcome, a caseworker helping someone secure housing, or a donor making our programs possible—every act of compassion contributes to real change.
