Our mission is to educate, save, and improve the lives of those living with mental health challenges and prior self-harming tendencies by providing highly trained service dogs as a vital lifeline. SDSL focuses on raising funds for training scholarships and service dogs while allowing the partner organizations to concentrate on training and selecting deserving individuals. The profound impact of a service dog on a person's life is undeniable, with data from partner organizations showing that the incidence of suicide and mental health complications among veterans and first responders dramatically decreases after receiving a service dog.

Through educating our youth and communities on healthy and lifelong self-care practices, our mission decreases the stigma surrounding conversations on mental health.
