A Hopeful Home

This holiday season, O’Fallon Neighbors is launching a special campaign to help a local O'Fallon family remain safely in their home during an incredibly challenging chapter of their lives. The family at the center of this effort is doing everything they can to hold things together.

The mother has lived with a serious seizure disorder since she was nine years old. One that has progressively worsened over time. For safety reasons, she was forced to stop working, leaving behind a job she loved as a federal employee. Today, her focus is managing her health while caring for her family.

She and her husband are raising four young boys here in O'Fallon, ranging from a teenager to an 18-month-old. Her husband works as a handyman, but like many in skilled trades, work can be inconsistent and seasonal. Despite their best efforts, unpredictable income combined with ongoing medical challenges has made staying current on housing costs increasingly difficult.

The family receives some assistance, including help with food and access to medical care through the state. However, disability benefits, critical to their stability, have been denied multiple times leaving them in an uncertain and stressful position as bills continue to pile up.

Above all else, their greatest concern is their home.

This mother grew up in foster care. She knows firsthand how deeply instability can affect a child. The thought of her own children facing a shelter or worse, being separated, fills her with overwhelming fear. She would do anything to keep her family together, under one roof, safe and stable. Keeping their family together is not just a goal, it’s everything.

We are asking our community to come together to help stabilize this family during a critical moment. To amplify the impact, O’Fallon Neighbors will match every donation dollar-for-dollar, up to $6,000, doubling the reach of every gift.

We invite you to consider making a donation, no matter the size, and help ensure that four local children remain safe, warm, and at home this holiday season.
