In 2017, Nichole Doane fell 60-feet onto a rock ledge while canyoneering at Wallace Falls. She laid there for four hours until Search and Rescue assisted in her airlift to the very hospital where she worked as a trauma nurse. While enduring a shattered pelvis, a broken back, and a spinal cord injury, she recalls the fall as the greatest moment of her life.
