Discover the unexpected and delightful stories behind some of our most cherished holiday traditions, from Saint Nicholas to nativity scenes to candy canes and Christmas stockings. We'll explore how pagan and Christian rituals magically merged into the holiday we celebrate today as well as several uniquely Italian customs, such as the Feast of the Epiphany and wearing red underwear!
Carla Gambescia is an Italian cultural “edu-tainer,” award-winning author, lecturer, travel journalist, and avid photographer. Carla’s passion for Italy began early: with her mother’s love of the Renaissance masters and her father’s discourses on Italian geniuses of every calling. In the ensuing decades, she’s written about and toured every region of Italy on foot or by bicycle.
Registration fee: $10 Members | $20 Non Members
The Zoom link will be sent, upon registration, a few days prior to the event.
All the proceeds will go to the NOIAW scholarship fund.
