Help Launch Community-Inspired Public Art in Howell

We’re creating a growing series of community-inspired murals and public artwork throughout Downtown Howell, each shaped by local stories, ideas, and experiences shared by the people who know and love this place.

This is more than paint on a wall.

Through public art, storytelling, and community participation, ART Doing Good uses art to share our story, welcome people in, and connect them to local nonprofits, community events, and ways to get involved.

The first installation, planned for the Thai Café wall across from the courthouse, is already underway thanks to the early leadership and belief of the Rotary Club of Howell, our Founding Partner, Explore Brighton Howell Area, The City of Howell, Mugg & Bopps and Bank of Ann Arbor, Livingston.

Phase One funding launches the first public art installations, community engagement efforts, and storytelling experiences that will continue growing throughout downtown.

Why It Matters

Public art has the power to bring people together.

Each installation begins with community inspiration gathered through conversations, events, and shared experiences. Once complete, the artwork invites people to look closer, discover local stories and organizations, and find meaningful ways to take part in the good happening throughout the community.

Together, these installations help tell the story of Howell while creating welcoming spaces that spark connection, curiosity, and generosity.
