Modesty is a trait of the believer. Our control in what we display, what we say, and how we act are all encompassed by this virtue. But in a hypersexual society, modesty has become a loaded word. To some, it is a sensitive issue that is misused and unfairly applied. To others, it is an antiqued virtue that needlessly inhibits us from presenting our true selves.

This pool of ambiguity, we must ask: What is modesty? What was modesty's roll in the Prophet's (ﷺ) time? And what is modesty place in a modern world that no longer values it and how can we as Muslims reclaim it?
