Help the Indigenous Land Conservation Council Secure a Fiscal Sponsor
About the Indigenous Land Conservation Council (ILCC) Founded in 2024 and newly incorporated in New York State in 2025, the Indigenous Land Conservation Council (ILCC) is an Indigenous run and led organization dedicated to the protection, restoration, and preservation of culturally and ecologically significant lands and species. We are actively pursuing federal tax-exempt status as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and are laying the foundation for long-term impact through Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK), Indigenous land-based practices, and community driven leadership. As an emerging Indigenous nonprofit, we are working to build a strong and viable foundation for our work. In order to take the next step of securing a fiscal sponsor while we wait for 501(c)(3) status, we must purchase liability and board of directors insurance, and will purchase a website.
ILCC’s Vision & Purposes We envision the restoration of Indigenous keystone species, including people, to their ecologically healthy and abundant ancestral territories as autonomous communities.
-
To conserve, protect and cultivate culturally and/or ecologically significant lands, and to conserve, protect and cultivate keystone species, including but not limited to at-risk species of plants, and species that are significant to Indigenous culture due to their status as foods, fibers, or medicines;
-
To support tribal and Indigenous peoples in obtaining access to land to engage in such conservation practices and/or to engage in regenerative agricultural practices;
-
To protect and preserve Indigenous cultural and ceremonial practices, by, among other things, conserving and providing access to land for tribal and Indigenous peoples to engage in such practices; and
-
To provide education on Indigenous Traditional Ecological Knowledge, regenerative agriculture, Indigenous life-ways and land access, land acquisition, and land rights.
We need your help in raising $2,000.00 to purchase insurance & a website by September, 2025.
By donating, you are helping us secure fiscal sponsorship. This ensures that we can…

Receive tax-deductible donations while awaiting full 501(c)(3) status
-
Apply for public and private funding
-
Organize and host educational, cultural, and conservation programming
-
Form and cultivate partnerships with tribal nations, land stewards, and conservation allies
