Hi, my name is Peter, and my family owns and operates a small corner store in the "Low Bottoms" of South Central, Los Angeles on 4851 Long Beach Ave.

Last year, we hosted our first community Thanksgiving cookout with the help of incredible local partners like @goldheartedstudio and @theshackon48th. Together, we cooked warm meals and showed our neighborhood what happens when local businesses come together with purpose. What started as a simple idea turned into one of the most meaningful days we’ve ever experienced. We fed families, elders, unhoused neighbors, and individuals who just needed a moment of kindness.

Now, we’re preparing for our 2nd Annual Community Cookout on December 7, 2025, and this year, our vision is even bigger.

We’re honored to be partnering with Hester Jean Lee (@hesterjeanlee) — a community advocate and social media storyteller whose work is dedicated to uplifting LA communities, supporting local vendors, and inspiring real acts of kindness. Hester’s belief in compassion, dignity, and grassroots action aligns perfectly with what we’re trying to build here in our community. Her presence and reach will help us connect with more people and gather more support for those who need it most.

Along with serving warm meals again, we’re raising funds to provide:

Blankets and Clothes for warmth and safety
Toys so kids in our neighborhood can have a joyful holiday
Hygiene kits for our unhoused and vulnerable neighbors

Our community is full of strength and resilience, but it is also full of people struggling with daily necessities. With the support of Hester, @goldheartedstudio, @theshackon48th, and our wider neighborhood, we want to make sure everyone feels cared for this holiday season.
