This past spring, our staff and board of directors worked together to clarify our mission, our vision and our values statements. We wanted to make sure that our community knew exactly what problem we are trying to solve and how we believe we can help solve it. We believe in the healing power of music, but in the current systems, music therapy can not be accessed equally by all. Lack of knowledge, limited recognition and financial barriers prevent individuals from receiving the therapeutic care they need and deserve. In Harmony works to educate the general public, advocate with people in positions of power, and find diverse funding streams for music therapy services for individuals, families and groups in Greater Cleveland.
Our clarified mission statement reads: In Harmony Therapeutic Services will provide and advocate for high-quality music therapy services for all in need.
While filling our programming load to maximum capacity has never been a problem, we continue to need funding to offset our bare bones operating costs. Our fiscal year ends on June 30 and for the first time, we are in a deficit. We want to be able to confidently book fall programming at locations like Colors+ Youth Center, Women's Recovery Center, Cuyahoga County Public Libraries, and Urban Community School but we need $5,000 to end this year on track.
Today, we need our supporters to say "I am here." We need our partners to help us uplift this mission. We need our friends to ensure the longevity of the organization so that we can continue to do the work of making sure the transformative power of music therapy is accessible to all.
If you believe in the work In Harmony is doing, please consider a donation today to help us close our deficit before June 30th.
Thank you!
