I received a phone call late one evening about the murder of a mother and a child. She had escaped domestic violence, but her abuser found her location. She was entitled to safety benefits and protection but due to the biases of community advocates, they only provided her food vouchers. I begin to research and inquire about services offered to Black Women escaping abuse and it was revealed that they are not being offered the same benefits and helping services. Many times they are turned away.

Black women and girls are 3-4x more likely to experience and/or die from domestic violence than any other culture in the US. It is a crisis that must be eradicated. The focus and attention has not been pressing, which has resulted in great atrocities in the Black community.
IAmProSe Survivors Network is dedicated and structured to impact this crisis and cease the trajectory of this epidemic. We can stop Domestic Violence together, please shine your light, give, and help us!
