Hi! My name is Kimberly Wroldsen, and I am excited to announce that I have been selected to the USA Deaf Bowling Team for the 2025 Summer Deaflympics in Tokyo, Japan! This achievement reflects my hard work and dedication. We will now begin the next phase of our preparation for the Deaflympics.

From November 15-26, 2025, our team will be traveling to the 25th Summer Deaflympics in Tokyo, Japan and we will be celebrating the 100th year anniversary which has successfully been functioning since August 24, 1924.

The Deaflympics are a unique quadrennial event recognized by the International Olympic Committee in which the world’s best Deaf and Hard of Hearing athletes from over 75 nations compete for a chance to win the Gold.

I have been bowling since I was 11 years old, 6 years later I won my first Missouri State Youth Bowling Tournament award, 1st place in the Team event, and set a record in the Single event. I have continued to bowl in the weekly league and traveled for bowling tournaments. Participated in the Deaflympics in Denmark in ‘97 and won 3 bronze medals. I still carry a 190s average today. The Deaflympics is more than just a competition for me—it's a chance to fulfill a lifelong passion for the Olympics and to represent our country on the world stage. However, to make this dream a reality, I need your support.

Yet, we cannot do this alone. Unlike Olympians and Paralympians who are backed by the US Olympic and Paralympic Committee and TV broadcasting rights, Deaflympians must raise funds to cover training, equipment, and travel costs (room & board, transportation). To do so, we often rely on the generosity and collaboration of our donors and sponsors.

For the 2025 Games, the expected cost per athlete is over $6,500. To help defray these costs so that my teammates and I can focus on training and preparation so that we can empower our communities and all Americans through the universal language of sports, I am kindly requesting your organization to consider a tax-deductible donation or sponsorship to help defray these costs. Our organization is the USA Deaf Sports Federation (USADSF), a 501(c)(3) non profit organization, serves as the national governing body of deaf sport organizations.
