Hello friends! As many of you know, our family spends as much time as possible in the arts. We love concerts, going to galleries, museums and meeting artists.
Since the start of COVID, there have been an estimated 2.3 million job losses for creatives totaling $74 billion in average monthly earnings. Yep...that's right, $74 BILLION monthly--an estimate from way back in August.
We believe three things:
- The arts have kept us all going and have given us hope--we've watched films, listened to music and created works of art at home with our kids.
- A national creative-economy recovery strategy is necessary to undo the damage caused by the pandemic.
- Now is the time to start the recovery by investing in individual creatives and in organizations supporting and employing artists.
Whether you have $10 or $1,000, please join us in supporting McColl Center, an artist residency and contemporary arts organization in Charlotte. In addition to working with artists from around the world, McColl Center offers subsidized artist studios, access to state-of-the art equipment and virtual classes on the business of being an artist. They also provide paid internships for high school students and programs to tap into creativity during out of school time.
We're proud to support creativity and would be honored to have you join us. Thanks for considering our request.
