In Memory of Joseph Maroney
Joseph Maroney passed away, April 6, 2026. Joseph battled leukemia over 10 years ago and was a happy camper - along with his siblings, Sean, Thomas and Colin at both Saddle Rock and Camp Adventure. The entire family were part of our Cheer Bus Program - their excitement for the holidays, brought a lot of joy to our elves
After 10 healthy years, at 18 years old, Joseph was diagnosed with secondary cancers, finding aggressive tumors in his abdomen. The oldest of 10 children, he fought tirelessly for his life.
As you can tell he was a very big Knicks fan, he loved sports, especially team sports. This was part of who he was as he was - a team player.
He was modest and kind. Not just brave—but brave in the way he protected others, and tender in how he faced his illness for his parents, his brothers and sisters, and everyone he loved.
He will remain forever part of our KiDS NEED MoRE Community. He will always be remembered. He will always be missed.
In the days and weeks ahead, we will continue to support Joseph’s family.
If you would like to make a contribution, or send a card, note, or gift of support, you may do so through KiDS NEED MoRE 70 North Drive, Copiague, NY 11726
