This Giving Tuesday, In Harmony Therapeutic Services is raising money for our internal music therapy fund, the Bousner Memorial Fund. The Calvin and Angeline Bousner Memorial Fund is a restricted account established in the memory of Calvin and Angeline Bousner. Proceeds from the Bousner Memorial Fund may be used for any purpose that results in one or more individuals having improved access to music therapy or music enrichment programming.

Recently, a recipient of the Bousner Memorial Fund Scholarship for individual music therapy shared the impact of this gift on her family. She said,

"My child is 7 years old and came into our custody at age 5. We were able to adopt her in March 2024. Her first five years of life were filled with trauma and abuse and she needs a variety of supports to help her grow, learn and develop. Music therapy has given my child another outlet for her big feelings. She has been able to process different feelings in a safe and happy place with her music therapist. She has also been able to practice a variety of social skills with others and this is invaluable for her.

Without funding this is not something our family could afford. In adopting our two girls we had depleted a lot of our savings and took on the girls with little support from the system as we were considered a kinship placement. We are so grateful our daughter has this opportunity and so grateful for this funding."
