Innova has been quietly working behind the scenes for the last 10 years. It started with one family's vision to bring hope to Guatemala. Seeing poverty and disability up close inspired a lifelong mission for change.
More than twenty-three million wheelchairs are needed each year for disabled individuals globally, only 3 million receive one. In Guatemala 1 in 5 people need help moving. Four to five thousand wait for mobility, freedom, and independence. Innova is changing that.
We began by meeting urgent needs, bringing hope through generosity. We soon learned that lasting change comes from opportunity. This idea, known as the Prosperity Paradox, inspired a new approach. Innovation could multiply impact. We just needed the right partner.
Our founder, Mel Torrie, met Mark, the creator of Beeline. Beeline designs and builds custom wheelchairs for children across Guatemala. Together, they dreamed of something bigger -- innovation that gives back. Blending robotics and local skill, they built mobility with purpose. Each cart empowers locals to earn income as well as funding more wheelchairs for those in need. It's innovation in motion -- every cart helps fuel even more impact. This is how Innova turns innovation into opportunity.
Since 2024, Innova has served over 1000 people. Fifty-five volunteers, 2600 hours, countless smiles. Mobility opens doors to laughter, independence, and endless dreams. Every gift of movement changes not just one life -- but a family.
