Help Circle of Women this International Women's Day!

Every year, women throughout the world observe International Women's Day to recognize their contributions to society in the fields of culture, politics, and the economy. We want to honor all the women who have made positive changes in our lives by making positive changes in the lives of other young women, and we need your assistance to do it. This year’s theme for the UN's International Women’s Day is “Rights. Justice. Action.” Circle believes that by educating one girl, we can help educate an entire community and focuses on promoting a woman's right to education.

There are 130 million girls worldwide who are not expected to ever enter a classroom. Two thirds of those who are illiterate in the world are women. Circle of Women, a 501(c)3 nonprofit, was created in 2006 by 3 driven Harvard students with the mission to lower this number. Since then, Circle of Women has expanded to high schools and colleges throughout the country, where chapters are working together to invest in educating girls throughout the globe. Circle operates by partnering with local nonprofit organizations and secondary schools to implement innovative and sustainable solutions to increase girls’ access to education. In the past 19 years, Circle has fully executed multiple international projects in Afghanistan, India, Kenya, Malawi, Pakistan, Tanzania, Peru, Uganda, Guatemala, and Haiti. From donating e-books to an all girls school through Project Maia to building safe bathrooms for the Wiser School, Circle has made an impact in every aspect of girl’s education.

Our current project is in partnership with the Common Grounds for Africa to construct a girls' dormitory for the Lenana Girls High School in Kenya. Your generosity will help expand essential facilities like water and santitation systems for 200 girls, many of whom are currently unable to attend school due to poverty or unsafe housing conditions.

This International Women's Day, we'd love to ask you to imagine a world where girls everywhere could have the chance to go to school because YOU helped. Girls who have graduated from the schools we have funded have gone on to become educators, medical field professionals, and community leaders. Funding a girl's education today changes the world tomorrow.
