Learn How Optional Tips Work

PTO Extracurriculars are hosted by the Language Ambassadors. They are a fun way for your student to explore special topics after school. All proceeds support the PTOs mission to support the LA program year after year.

Classes run 4:15–5:15PM.

Cultural Art Club (20 Students)

Students will explore culture through art, crafts, and holiday celebrations. A fun way for our youngest learners to create and connect with traditions from around the world, including Colombia, El Salvador, Mexico, Spain, and the United States.

Board Games and Activities (30 Students)

The *Board Games and Activities Club* will be a space to relax, connect, and share good moments after school. We can enjoy traditional games from El Salvador, Spain, and Colombia, such as parqués, bolirana, capirucho and many more that we can add from each of our cultures. We can’t wait to see all the laughter, strategy, and joy we will share together!

Arts and Crafts (20 Students)

Welcome to our Arts and crafts club! Students can explore their creativity through fun, hands-on projects and also group work. They'll try out different materials and techniques to create their own unique masterpieces, while developing their skills and enjoying a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Everyone's welcome to drop by and see what we’re making!

Science Club (20 Students)

Welcome to CON-CIENCIArte! . In this workshop, science-based activities combined with arts (STEAM) will be developed where children will experiment by playing and creating. It starts from a learning situation, which will serve to engage the students. Subsequently, activities will be carried out in a staggered manner and will end with a final product. For example, there will be workshops where water will be the starting point and from there, they will discover its properties and the importance it has in the world.

Basketball Club (20 Students)

Welcome to our *Basketball Club!* Students will have fun while learning the basics of basketball through dynamic and engaging games. We will focus on teamwork, coordination, and movement, using fun challenges such as relay races and adapted versions of traditional games. For example, playing the classic "handkerchief game" but with basketballs! The goal is to enjoy physical activity while improving basketball skills in a playful and inclusive environment.

About Extracurricular Pricing

The standard rate for ISLA classes is $10/week. Families who qualify for reduced price meals receive 50% off. Additionally, families registered for daily Aventuras will receive 50% off their class registrations. Families who qualify for free meals receive 75% off. LA program host and Tío/Tía families receive 50% off in gratitude for serving our Language Ambassadors. School Board and PTO Executive Committee members receive 50% off for the countless hours of volunteering they do for the school.

Families who qualify for a discount will receive their discount code via email from the front office.

About the Optional Tip and Platform Fees

When registering for classes, you'll see an "Optional Tip" for the Givebutter platform (which the PTO and school are using to collect payments). 100% of this Optional Tip goes to Givebutter, not to ISLA PTO. Additionally, the transaction fee is 2.9% + $0.30. Both of these are optional for you to pay.

To reduce the optional tip, change the 15% to 12 or 10%, or select Other to change it to a lower (or higher) number. Feel free to choose 0% for the optional tip!
To remove the transaction fee, click Edit next to the transaction fee. Uncheck "I want to cover the fees" and this fee will be removed from your payment, but will reduce the total received by the PTO (i.e., the fee will be paid by PTO).
