Founded in 2015 as a faith-driven initiative, ITARA was created to provide hope, dignity, and sustainable income opportunities for women impacted by the Rwandan genocide. By investing in these women, ITARA is embodying the gospel and transforming families and communities for generations to come.

What began with a handful of Rwandan women in a small workshop learning the craft of sewing has grown into a thriving ministry and a platform for economic empowerment, equipping under-resourced women with vocational training.

From May 17 - May 26, 2026, five volunteers from the US will journey to Kigali, Rwanda to support the ITARA mission and vision. All travel costs are already personally covered by our volunteers, so our goal of raising $10,000 for our mission trip will have every dollar go directly to funding ITARA artisan vocational training.
