We are In the Weeds (ITW), a dynamic nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the well-being and empowerment of Colorado's vibrant Hospitality Industry Workforce. Our mission is driven by a passionate commitment to health equity, workforce development, and community resilience.
At ITW, we recognize the unique challenges faced by those working in the hospitality sector—many of whom are high school and college-aged students, low-income individuals, immigrants, Indigenous Peoples, and more. We believe that everyone deserves equal rights and opportunities, including the right to good health. Our work is guided by the principles of social justice, aiming to address avoidable inequities that result from unequal distribution of resources.
Our comprehensive approach revolves around wellness, collective individuality, and integrity. We offer a range of services tailored to the specific needs of the Hospitality Industry Workforce, from peer-to-peer support groups to life skills training, workforce development, and housing assistance. Every program is designed to be trauma-informed, culturally relevant, and multi-generational, ensuring that each person we serve can reach their highest potential.
ITW is deeply rooted in the community, with strong connections to industry professionals and stakeholders. We actively engage with our community through outreach, surveys, and program evaluation to ensure that our services remain relevant, culturally responsive, and effective. Our commitment to flexibility and adaptation means we can pivot our efforts based on the evolving needs of those we serve.
Our goal is clear: to build resilience, provide opportunities for growth, and create a culture of care within the Hospitality Industry. By addressing health inequities, supporting workforce development, and fostering community well-being, we're working to make a positive impact that extends far beyond the industry itself.
Join us in our mission to champion social justice, empower individuals, and create a healthier, more equitable Colorado. Together, we can transform lives and strengthen our communities.
