Asher Needs Our Help

Asher came to us from New Mexico along with two other dogs. When we unloaded him from the transport plane, it was immediately clear that something wasn’t right. He was extremely lethargic and very sick, but we assumed it was from the flight. It was heartbreaking to realize he had been placed on that flight while already so ill.

The very next morning we rushed him to our incredible veterinary team after he began having severe diarrhea and vomiting. After testing, we discovered that Asher had Parvo, a deadly virus that can take the lives of puppies quickly if they do not receive immediate care.

While we were understandably upset and frustrated that he had not received treatment before being sent, we are incredibly grateful that he ended up with us—because now he has a fighting chance.

As always, we are fortunate to have the best veterinary care supporting our rescue. Asher has already begun the life-saving treatment he needs, and he is now in the loving hands of a dedicated foster who is helping monitor, medicate, and care for him while he fights through this virus.

As you can imagine, this was a very unexpected medical expense. Situations like this happen often in rescue, and while we never hesitate to step in for a sick or injured animal, we rely on our incredible community to help us make it possible.

We cannot turn a blind eye when an animal needs us. Honestly, we are terrified to think about what would have happened to Asher if he hadn’t made it here. We truly believe he was meant to come to Nebraska and be surrounded by the love of Max Raven Nation—people like you who always show up when animals need it most.
