My husband(Matt)was diagnosed with Uveal melanoma in his left eye in September of 2023, he always had perfect vision and was having some blurry vision, initially was told he had 20/20 vision in Feb. of 2023, then when he was diagnosed was told that in February they saw a "flat mole on the back of his eye and did not think it was anything.", He was then diagnosed with metastasis to his liver from this cancer. We are fortunate that we only live 2 hours from the specialist, but we spent a lot of money on travel, missed work, hotel bills, hospital bills, food etc. He died on 4/11/25 from this cancer. I want to help others recognize this cancer early and get to the specialist early, because early treatment is the key and help those who cannot afford to go to the specialist that are required for this very rare cancer. My husband did all the right things to try to beat this, but the cancer won, he would have helped anybody he could have to avoid what he went through and help those who cannot afford travel, treatment, etc. If this helps one person, I will feel I have done something to honor my husband.
