Hi friends, followers, and supporters. At Jake’s Place, we are loving seeing and meeting everyone as we are wrapping up our first full month of being open! We’ve learned some things and we love your feedback. We are looking forward to the summer - being open more and spending more time together! We have some fun things planned too!

With summer coming up and the temps rising, we know we are officially up against a beast… the heat. When prepping our space we did what time and finances would allow but we are becoming aware that the things we have in place are not going to be enough to beat the heat. 

So we are coming to our community for help. We need a pretty big chunk of change to truly get the building COLD. We currently have 2 large fans and 1 large indoor unit but we need to invest in bigger to keep your play time as comfortable as possible. Since Jake’s Place was created by The Broom Tree (a local non profit), the facts are… we need the financial help. 

We are looking at needing close to $20k to make this happen (and hopefully happen quick!). 

So how can you help? Of course, any financial help is wonderful so we will post our links for donations in the comments. If you’d like to give a large donation (with tax write off information) please message us. How else? We need partners to further this along. If you or anyone you know owns a business and would like to do a partnership donation, please send them our way. A tag on this post helps, but a good ole phone call goes a long way too. So please reach out to whoever you know!

The biggest help? Who knows one of our main AC companies here in Cenla? We have 3-5 AC providers in town and we’d love to partner with any one of them if they’d want to. Donations of any kind from businesses will get shoutouts on our socials. Would a company want to donate the whole project?? We’d love to have their logo in our building!

We know our community is one that knows how to rally around good things and we are hopeful and prayerful that this need can be met ASAP!
