Our vision is a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live.

And since 1995, Junction City/Harrisburg/Monroe Habitat for Humanity has been building and repairing houses in our communities, in partnership with the families who purchase these homes. Through thousands of hours of volunteer labor and the generosity of individuals, organizations, and businesses, we are able to sell homes to hard-working families with an affordable mortgage. Habitat for Humanity knows that safe, decent and affordable shelter plays an absolutely critical role in helping struggling families find a new path forward.

The need for affordable housing is tremendous; more than twenty-five percent of renters in our communities are cost-burdened, spending more than half of their income on rent, an amount that doesn't allow a family to save for health care, retirement, or their children's education. Families partner with us to acquire the access, skills, and financial education necessary for them to
improve their living conditions and repay an affordable mortgage or loan. In doing so, they seize the opportunity and possibilities that decent, affordable housing represents.

Junction City/Harrisburg/Monroe Habitat for Humanity faces challenges in building affordable housing in partnership with those who so desperately need it. However, through innovative land financing and stewardship of our resources, we are able to sell simple, decent houses to families who otherwise could not afford to purchase a home.

Through the generosity of donors, we can continue to build and repair homes, to create a community where everyone has a safe and decent place to live.
