Rent our spirit rock to send a special message!!

Your message can be a birthday or congratulatory message to your child, family member, favorite teacher or staff member, class, etc. Sliding scale $5-$45 per day, pay what you can. Suggested price of $30. The day is a 24 hour period and runs from 3:00PM on the day before your rental day (time to get it painted) until 3:00PM on your rental day.

Please register online for a specific date. Reservations are made on a first-come, first-served basis. Your reservation is not confirmed until payment has been received. No refunds will be given, even in the event of inclement weather.

Painting Tips
The entire process usually takes about an 1 - 1.5 hours, depending on design, the rock gets sun in the afternoon so it dries quickly. You will need 2-4 cans of spray paint to completely cover the entire rock (Advice: Do buy satin or flat finish spray paint. Do NOT waste your time on or money with the $0.99 cans, they don't work). Paint your background with the spray paint

Get small bottles of acrylic paint (usually less than $1 each) and paint your message and designs on with paint brushes. You may need to bring a container of water to rinse your brushes between colors (please pour this out in the wooded area - not on the grass under the rock).

The rocks is 7 feet tall by 6 feet wide on the face. You may want a step stool.

There is not an area to wash off your brushes, so bring plastic bags to pack out dirty brushes and a bucket of water if you need to rinse brushes while painting. The gate at the road closes by 6:00PM, so make sure you park on the road if you will still be painting after that time.

Please adhere to the following guidelines

*You must wait until 3:00PM on the day before your rental to begin painting.

*No political, religious, or other taboo messages - Principal Yates reserves the right to remove any slogan or message that is not consistent with the intent of the rock and refunds will not be given.

*Keep area around the rock clean and free of paint and trash. Drops clothes are recommended.

Cost: $5-$45 sliding scale ($30 suggested) to reserve the rock for 24 hours. We want this to be affordable for all so please pay what you can. You are responsible for doing the painting.

All the dates for the school year have been added, but they are out of order. It is a slow process to get them in chronological order, but we are slowly working on that. Thanks for your patience.

Tips for Givebutter and processing fees are optional; you can opt out of both. We only accept payment through Venmo, PayPal, and credit card. We will not be accepting checks or cash because this adds more work to the women in the office.
