John Charles Curry III was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend whose life was defined by service, faith, and community engagement. Born in Greenwood, SC, and raised in Greenville, he pursued higher education at Wake Forest University and Texas A&M University, building a distinguished career in communications, energy, and education. His passion for strengthening relationships and fostering meaningful connections led him to leadership roles at BP, Amoco, Texas A&M, and most recently, Curry & Co. Consulting, where he championed strategic communication and outreach initiatives.

Beyond his professional success, John’s faith in Jesus Christ guided his dedication to philanthropy, education, and childhood cancer awareness. He was deeply involved with organizations such as the Katy ISD Education Foundation, Rutledge Cancer Foundation, and The Arc of Katy, and took pride in mentoring and empowering others. A committed Boy Scouts leader, one of his proudest moments was seeing his son, Chas, earn his Eagle Scout badge. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering commitment to making a difference left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

John is survived by his loving wife, Kay, and his son, Chas, who will continue to honor his legacy. He is also remembered by his parents, sister, extended family, and countless friends.

He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Lillian Grace “Lilli” Curry.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Sam Day Foundation.
