Sanctuary Story..

This is a story about a microsanctuary and the residents that live there. Most everyone at JP Farm Animal Sanctuary (the bovines, chickens, roosters, pigs, a turkey and a farm dog) came from one of these challenging backrounds: neglect; the food industry; abandoment; agricultural studies; and or outdated religious rituals. Now they are now free to live out their lives at JP in joy and peace.

Tallulah the Scottish Highland Cow, highlighted in the picture, came from the meat industry whereby she and several of her bovine friends escaped from their situation only to be shot at, some killed, her baby taken away from her and then placed in hostile holding area until animal advocates stepped in and saved her. She was traumatized and scared of humans. No one could go near her until she came to her forever home at JP. As soon as she arrived, she kept her distance while watching intently as the other bovines indulged in the care that was given to them. She especially observed the daily grooming that included loads of brushing and hugs. Soon she allowed Oscar to brush her and the rest is history. She now can't wait for, us, the humans to smother her with love and stands in line for her new bovine family to give her cow licks.

Where they once had fear, they have love. Where they once had abandonment, they have care. Where they were once alone, they now have family. Where they were once hungry, they have healthy food. Where they were once scared, they now frolic. Where everybody knows their names, not a number or a notch in their ears - this is sanctuary. Where they are celebrated for who they are - this is joy.

Help us, help them and continue to inspire compassionate living for Allie, Ethan, Wilma, Evan, Bruce, Copper, Tallulah, Olivia, Emerson, Victor, Rose, Samantha, Ellie May, Ginger, Mary Ann, Shirley, Pepper, Mozza, Beanie, Dolphin, DJ, Rudy, Blanche, Ronnie, Oliver, and for those that do not have a voice or a sanctuary, yet...

We need you more than ever!

Giving Tuesday is a big deal for JP Farm Animal Sanctuary. It is incredible how much we rely on our donors as every thing has gone up in price due to supply and demand, inflation, and the state of the world. The needs of the residents also increase with health maintanence, elderly issues and the plight of domesticated farm animals that genetically breed them to grow too fast for their limbs, organs, and vascular systems to support them.

Animal Supplies from Grain to Flyspray to Sunscreen: $59,502
New bird area for Ronnie & Rudy - $wood prices have doubled in price!
