Story

Each year, JQES relies on fundraising to support academic, athletic and cultural enrichment for the over 740 students of JQES. We do this via banquet ticket sales, program ads, the support of our sponsors, and individual donations. Your generosity can help JQES fund:

  • TECHNOLOGY - computers, tablets, and software needed in our classrooms
  • ENRICHMENT - opportunities for real world experiences beyond our classrooms
  • SERVICES - supplemental educational and counseling support
  • MOVEMENT - programs that support physical activity to keep bodies and minds active

Our mission is to provide a challenging academic program that gives all students the means to succeed. Our school is a candidate for the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, and if accredited, we will be the first BPS elementary school with this distinction. We are consistently ranked among the top public schools in Massachusetts.

What Sets Us Apart from Other Schools:

  • Mandarin language instruction for all students.
  • Facilities include school library, auditorium, full-size gym, and pool.
  • Rooftop play decks and outdoor learning spaces.
  • Full-time paraprofessional in each K1/K2.
  • Classroom, and small class size in grades 1 and 2.
  • Robotics, Coding, and Model UN Student Senate program for grades 4-5.
  • Before and afterschool programs on-site or at neighboring organizations.
  • Boston Music Project orchestra program for K1-6.
  • K-12 Pathway: Guaranteed assignment to grade 6 at Josiah Quincy Upper School.
  • Weekly coffee/tea hour for parents.
  • In-school swimming pool with certified swim for Grades 2-5.
