Last year, 57% of preschool children we tested in Jacksonville's Urban Core failed their speech-language screenings—47 percentage points higher than the national average. Additionally, census numbers suggest that within the City of Jacksonville alone, those with hearing loss account for approximately 45,847 individuals.
