Imagine being part of a band that’s more than a class—it’s a family. You’ve worked tirelessly to perfect your music, pushed through challenges, and celebrated successes together. Now, you’re preparing to showcase your talents on the road at the Thrills and Trills Festival in Sandusky, OH.

For the Joliet Central Band, this is more than a trip—it’s a chance to shine. Performing at the festival is an opportunity to share their passion, feel the thrill of the stage, and create lasting memories.

But it’s about more than the performance. At Cedar Point Amusement Park, students will celebrate their hard work with thrilling rides, live entertainment, and unforgettable moments.

A band trip offers so much:

This trip is not just about the music; it’s about the moments in between: the laughter on the bus, the excitement of stepping onstage, and the joy of being part of something bigger than yourself.

The Challenge

The average cost for this trip is $550 per student, which is a significant expense for many families. Over 70% of our students rely on school-owned instruments, highlighting the financial need in our program. Yet, our students don't let their financial challenges stop them from succeeding. In addition to their school and band work, many of our students perform over 30 times a year in the community!

Our goal is to raise $5,000 to offset trip costs and make this opportunity accessible for all students.

How We’re Fundraising

A Spaghetti Dinner (coming in February)

Yet, this only makes a small dent in our trip cost. With your help, we can ensure every student gets to experience the joy and pride of this trip.

Sponsorship Levels

Every contribution brings us closer to our goal and supports our students’ goals:

Band Booster – Up to $25
Helps fund small trip costs, such as healthy snacks for the bus trip. Donor benefits: A handwritten thank-you note from our band members.
Supporter of the Band – Up to $50
Helps cover transportation costs and small performance fees. Donor benefits: A thank-you note and acknowledgment in the concert program.
Friend of the Band – Up to $100
Contributes to transportation and student meals. A thank-you note, acknowledgment in our concert programs, and on the band website.
Blue & Gold Supporter – Up to $250
Covers performance fees, meals, and small instrument accessories for one student. Includes Friend-level benefits and a priority concert program mention.
Tradition Sponsor – Up to $550
Sponsors most of one student’s trip. Includes Cedar Supporter benefits, plus a souvenir conducting baton.
Legacy Patron – $550+
Supports multiple students. Includes Tradition Sponsor benefits, plus your/your business name on a plaque displayed in the historic Joliet Central Band room!

🎵 Halfway There Challenge!
If the Joliet Central Band Parents reach 50% of their fundraising goal by Giving Tuesday (December 3, 2024), something magical will happen. Rumor has it that Mr. Stinson will hand over the conductor’s baton to a “special holiday guest” during the final song of the December 5th Winter Concert at 7:00 PM at Joliet Central High School. Here’s a hint: this guest wears a suit, has a white beard, and is known for being “jolly”! 🎅

🎵 Full Goal Celebration!
What happens if we reach 100% of our goal? Things get even more exciting! The band’s iconic performance of “March of the Steelmen” will be conducted by none other than the Steelmen Mascot in full gear. It’s a moment you won’t want to miss! 🦾
