Hello world, meet Flight Deck! Also known as Bubsy, this handsome bob-tailed gentleman got his new nickname because of his adorable airplane ears. We were first contacted by his caretaker of six years, who reached out when Flight Deck suddenly showed up one day dragging his rear right leg. Suspecting a broken femur, we got him in for x-rays at our vet, which revealed the heartbreaking truth: someone shot this sweet cat and the bullet is lodged next to his spine. In addition to other minor injuries, the leg he was dragging is severely infected with bacteria. His ears are also infected, and he has end-stage dental disease which will necessitate removal of his broken and diseased teeth when he gets stronger.

Flight Deck is now on multiple pain medications and antibiotics. We are hopeful that his mobility will improve as the infection in his leg clears, but sadly the location of the bullet so close to his spine could cause permanent neurological deficits affecting his legs, tail, bladder, and/or bowels. He is being closely monitored and we will keep you updated on his progress! No matter what, we are committed to making sure this sweet boy is safe and cared for. We are heartbroken that he had to experience such suffering at the hands of one cruel person.

Flight Deck was nervous to suddenly find himself in a home environment after living his life outside, but he is adjusting very well. He is a champion napper, lover of Churus, and gives wonderfully loud purrs for pets! We know times are tough financially for a lot of people right now.
