Plant & Soul California is an ecological rejuvenation hub based in San Jose dedicated to restoring urban green spaces and expanding environmental education across Silicon Valley. We plant and maintain native and non-invasive landscapes that support healthy ecosystems and vibrant community spaces.

Our flagship garden at 76 Race Street serves as a gathering and learning hub where we host cooking classes, native plant workshops, school field trips, youth nature camps, and corporate volunteer days that combine hands-on restoration with team engagement.

Plant & Soul also works across more than 50 residential sites, 10+ schools, major institutions including the Elmwood Correctional Facility, and dozens of small businesses throughout the region, delivering sustainable landscaping projects, community food initiatives, and environmental education.

Our impact is strengthened through regional collaboration. We founded the Coyote Valley Agroecology Coalition in 2025 to connect farms, educators, restaurants, and retailers advancing sustainable land management across Santa Clara County. We are also members of the Urban Growers’ Network, expanding coordinated food access across the Northern Santa Clara Valley.

We are seeking $200,000 in corporate and community support to maintain our gardens, employ local staff, relaunch youth and family programs, and expand our food recovery and distribution initiatives throughout San Jose. So far, we have raised roughly $10,000, and are looking for the other $190,000 by the end of 2025.

Corporate donors can be recognized across our digital platforms and event materials during community programming including: seasonal workshops, plant nursery sales, weekly socials and volunteer stewardship days (such as the Deloitte Impact Day pictured above), food recovery from local farms and grocers, and neighborhood food distribution efforts supporting families experiencing temporary gaps in food assistance.

$100 pays or one elementary student field trip
$250 supplies materials for one time garden maintenance at one of our client gardens
$500 sponsors a volunteer stewardship day
$1,000 expands youth education programming
$5,000 covers garden management our flagship and Hester gardens for 1 month
$10,000 covers 1 month of rent for our flagship community garden
