Fuel for CASA Victim Advocate

A long time ago, in a land far away, our CASA Victim Advocate position was created. This position within Sunflower Children's Collective was created to meet the needs of CASA kiddos from our Judicial District who have been placed far outside of our area/region. The Victim Advocate acts as a CASA Volunteer for these child victims and spends most of her days driving across the State of KS to spend time with kids and work as their advocate. With funding cuts and reallocation of funds toward salaries, we've had less and less money to reimburse this staff member's mileage, so about a year and a half ago, we began looking for funding to purchase an automobile, dedicated solely to the travel of our Victim Advocate to the CASA kids placed far and wide. Finally, this past weekend, the dream became a reality when funding came through from our friends at Civic Plus! With previous commitments from two other local funding sources, we were able to purchase a Toyota Corolla for our CASA Victim Advocate.
