At Connections Emergency Shelter we believe no one should have to choose between a safe place to sleep and the pet who is their only source of comfort, loyalty, and unconditional love.
For many experiencing homelessness, pets are not just companions—they are family, protectors, and healing lifelines. Whether it’s a dog that offers security through the night or a cat that provides calm through trauma, these animals are often the reason someone keeps going in the face of hardship.
Thanks to the PAS grant, for 4 years we’ve been able to remain a rare safe haven that welcomes people and their pets. But that funding has ended—putting this crucial part of our shelter’s mission at risk.
We are turning to the community and anyone who understands the important roles animals play in our lives.
We are asking for your support so we can continue to:
Supply food, crates, and veterinary care
Keep families—human and animal—together during their hardest moments
