Have someone special you'd like to honor? Want a unique and fun way to advertise your business? Do you have a huge milestone you'd like to celebrate? NAME A BOAT!
Westerville Crew is a nationally competitive, nonprofit club rowing team for all Central Ohio 6-12th graders and adults 21+. We run a variety of programs serving the local rowing community. Member dues and fees alone are not sufficient to cover the cost of the programs. We rely on volunteers and contributors, both at the individual and corporate level. One option for contributing to WRC is through the naming of a boat or associated equipment. WRC provides an opportunity for donors to name new boats as they are added to the fleet, and to sponsor individual oars or seats, as well as the opportunity to name some existing shells and equipment.
Cost for naming rights:
Single scull: $1,500
Double/Pair: $2,750
Quad/Four: $4,500
Eight: $6,500
Benefits to naming of boats, seats, and oars are as follows:
Exposure on Hoover Reservoir 6 times a week for a total of 10-20hrs.
Christening Ceremony for Boats.
Your chosen Board-approved name on our equipment for a minimum of 5 years.
Your name on our website as a contributor.
We compete at many national regattas where you can gain additional exposure such as Head of the Charles, Head of the Hooch, USRowing Club Nationals and USRowing Youth Nationals.

IN-CLUB BOAT DEDICATIONS
In dedicating club boats, the Board may seek to recognize former or long-time members of the organization, free of any actual cost to the member candidate or sponsor, and taking into consideration the following factors:
A member’s long-term voluntary contributions/services to the club.
A member’s racing or other extraordinary rowing achievements.
An event, person, or entity of historical significance to the club.
Aligning with rowing tradition, shells will not be named for existing paid club coaches or staff, instead reserving naming for honorariums in addition to the above mentioned factors.

BOAT NAMING POLICY
Process for Name Consideration
If a person or group donates the designated amount, they shall have the right to submit a name /names to the WRC Board for consideration.
The Board will review the name and approve/deny through vote at the next scheduled Board Meeting.
If denied, a reason for denial and suggested alternatives will be provided.
Rollover of Boat Names
The Board shall determine the rollover of boat names accordingly. As a general policy, Westerville Crew will ensure that:
Boats are named for people who are recognized by current active members of the club.
The boat name is significant. The length of time the name is used should therefore reflect the significance of the person’s contributions to the club.
Documentation
In naming club boats, the Board shall maintain a documented record specifying:
● The type of boat (e.g., Vespoli 4/x).
● The current name of the boat that has been given by WRC.
● The basis upon which the boat was named.
● The length of time the boat name will be retained.
● The previous names utilized, the time of each name and reason/basis for each naming.
