Satellite Phone Fund

EOW patrols across terrain that interferes with cell phone and even high end radio coverage.  Managing patrols can be difficult and frustrating.  Key communication between our patrol leaders (we call them "Rovers") and the patrol manager are often impossible.  Without reliable communication quick response to incidents becomes difficult if not impossible.  

To address this problem EOW would like to purchase six satellite phones for use by our patrol manager and Rovers.  Currently the maximum number of phones needed is 6.  We anticipate a cost of $300 per phone.  Service can then be activated during the patrol season and discontinued after our last patrol.

We have tried a number of alternatives including WhatsApp, GPS trackers (for Rover location), and event provided radio sets.  All of these have proved inadequate for our purposes.
