Every child deserves to feel safe, loved, and heard. For children in Kansas foster care, that voice often comes from a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA)—a trained community volunteer who stands by their side through the uncertainty of abuse and neglect cases.

Kansas CASA Association, Inc. is the backbone of this vital mission. While our local CASA programs work directly with children, Kansas CASA provides the support, resources, and infrastructure that make their work possible. We ensure that every CASA program across the state has the training, tools, and advocacy they need to recruit and equip volunteers who can change the trajectory of a child’s life.

Today, there are 20 local CASA programs serving children in 63 of Kansas’s 105 counties. Together, these programs give more than 1,000 children every quarter the stability of a trusted adult voice in court. But nearly half the state still has no CASA presence, leaving too many children to navigate the foster care system without this critical support.

That’s where Kansas CASA steps in. From rural towns to urban centers, we:

Provide training and technical assistance so local programs can serve more children effectively.
Advocate at the state level for policies that improve the child welfare system.
Drive volunteer recruitment and awareness campaigns so more Kansans step forward to serve.
Lay the groundwork for new CASA programs in unserved communities.
