As an organization with five years of programming in the dance and arts community, Kofago Dance Ensemble recognizes the challenges faced by many organizations like ours. We, too, have encountered a lack of operational funding, organizational capacity, and resources. The rising costs of inflation has made it even more difficult to sustain our mission of promoting the power of self-expression and healing through dance.

Not only do we face financial barriers, but we also recognize the importance of creative capital and institutional knowledge of how to secure funding for programming initiatives from city government. These obstacles can often hinder progress and limit our impact on the community we strive to serve.

However, we do not let these challenges discourage us. Instead, we are inspired to find innovative solutions and seek out assistance from like-minded individuals and organizations who share our vision.

We are pleased to invite you to our upcoming event, KASSOUMAII (CASS-SU-MAI), a gala dinner performance presented by Kofago Dance Ensemble. This event will take place on October 15th, 2023, at the Jamaica Performing Arts Center, and will feature the newest choreography by our talented artists.

Kofago Dance Ensemble is supported by Rhythm N Dance Incorporated, a non-profit organization that has been serving the southeast Queens community for the past five years. Our mission is to promote African Diaspora culture through dance and other artistic expressions, while providing a safe space for individuals to heal and connect with their community. We are proud to announce that we are opening the Kofago School of Dance and Culture in September 2023, which will further our mission and allow us to reach more members of our community.
