Keep Food Rescue One on the Road

Miami throws away thousands of pounds of good food every day. At the same time, thousands of Miami families don't have enough to eat.

You can help fix that by supporting Food Rescue One, Nourish Miami’s new food rescue van.

Nourish Miami is putting Rescue One on the road to connect restaurants, hotels, caterers, and food distributors to our volunteers and community kitchens so surplus food reliably reaches the people who need it most.

Our drivers are devoted volunteers who give their time and energy because they believe perfectly good food should never go to waste.  Especially when so many people in our own city are hungry.

To keep them and Rescue One on the road, Nourish Miami needs $24,000 a year to pay for the loan, insurance, gas and maintenance.

We expect that investment to result in nearly 200,000 pounds of food rescued and more than 165,000 meals delivered.  That’s just 15-cents per meal.  So, every $15 monthly contribution funds the pick-up and delivery of 100 meals per month.
