Spartan Wrestling Launches Fundraiser to Expand Free Weekly Shows in Etowah County AL
Gadsden, AL – April 14th, 2025 – Acts of Valor dba Spartan Wrestling, a Non-Profit independent wrestling promotion rooted in charity, service, and entertainment, has launched a community-driven fundraiser to continue offering high-quality, free weekly wrestling shows throughout Etowah County.
With over 4 years of events already held, Spartan Wrestling has become a staple in Gadsden—delivering family-friendly action and unforgettable moments at no cost to attendees. The promotion’s roster, made up entirely of volunteers, has committed itself to bringing the excitement of professional wrestling to families and neighborhoods often overlooked by larger promotions.
“There’s nothing else like this in Etowah County,” said Joshua O’Hagan, Head Trainer of Spartan Wrestling. “We’re offering multiple free shows each week, and the community has responded with overwhelming support. But to keep growing—and keep these shows free—we need help from those who believe in what we’re doing.”
The promotion’s primary goal is to raise $22,500, which will allow Spartan Wrestling to continue its current schedule of free shows without interruption. A stretch goal of $45,000 would eliminate existing debt, allowing every future dollar to go directly toward producing high-quality shows. Ultimately, the dream is to operate on a $50,000 annual budget, enabling Spartan Wrestling to grow, expand, and elevate the experience for fans.
“We’re not charging families at the door. Every dollar raised goes right back into the community events,” said General Manager Joe Crowe. “We’re building something real here—something these kids and families will never forget.”
Spartan Wrestling offers unique sponsorship opportunities, with consistent crowds of 150–300 and frequent engagement from local families and fans. Sponsors will have the chance to place signage at events and play a visible role in keeping this community tradition alive.

Spartan Wrestling: Built by the people, for the people—and we’re just getting started.
“This isn’t just wrestling—it’s storytelling, it’s community, it’s a chance to give people something real,” said The 1J☀️ Esquire, one of Spartan’s featured performers. “I’ve had a lot of titles in my life—attorney, captain, champion—but the one I’m chasing now is bigger than all of them: Spartan. Because when you fight for something that matters, you don’t need permission. You just earn it.”
