Carrying Their Light Forward

Keith and Susie Black made caring for others part of their everyday lives. Together, they shared 51 years of marriage rooted in family, faith, friendship, and service to Huntingdon County.

Susie devoted 36 years to teaching children at Juniata Valley Elementary School. Keith served our community through his work, coaching, and involvement with local organizations. Together, they delivered Meals on Wheels, volunteered, supported community efforts, and encouraged countless people along the way.

For so many across Huntingdon County, they were dear friends—and for many, best friends. They showed up at games, cheered from their golf carts, supported local events, and took joy in seeing others succeed. They made people feel that someone was always in their corner.

Keith and Susie had recently agreed to serve as Huntingdon County United Way’s Campaign Champions. It was a fitting role for two people who had already spent their lives championing others.

At their family’s request, memorial contributions may be made to Huntingdon County United Way. The Keith and Susie Black Memorial Fund honors their memory and carries their spirit of generosity forward through our work serving neighbors throughout Huntingdon County.

We extend our love and deepest sympathy to Danielle and Adam, their families, and everyone who loved Keith and Susie. We are grateful for the opportunity to honor two people who gave so much.

The world became a little darker with their passing. Now we can honor them by becoming that light for others. If every person who loved Keith and Susie carries a little of their kindness forward, imagine how bright the world could be.
