Black Joy Parade: Kente T-Shirt Order
Parents are reclaiming their power to shape, decide, and influence their children’s academic journey, and The Village Method exists to make sure they never have to do it alone.
We serve low-income and first-generation households across the San Francisco Bay Area and Atlanta Metro region—families doing their best to navigate systems that were never built for them.
Through our after-school programs, college and career mentorship, cultural enrichment, and family advocacy training, we walk with young people from elementary school through college.
One of our high school scholars started the year unsure if he even belonged in school. He didn’t see college as an option. By spring, with the support of our team, he had a game plan, mentors who believed in him, and a list of schools he was ready to apply to.
This is the kind of transformation we see every day.
But the need is growing—and so is the gap.
In many of the communities we serve, only 1 in 5 students meets grade-level expectations in math or reading. College is out of reach for too many because of cost, lack of guidance, or burnout from trying to do it all alone. Families want to help but are stretched thin and shut out of the decision-making process.
Join the Black Joy Parade Kente T-Shirt Fundraiser to help us change that.
